Big posts, little posts

Well Len worked a marathon day yesterday, scheming, planning, trying, doing....

Here is the proof.

First a jig to router out a slot for the rails

Now to finish the larger posts a little sanding

All done with a nice chamfered edge

Of course we will have to actually cut into our outside deck posts as well so the jig will now do double duty with a little modification to fit on the floor.

Test fit went fine but a dado slot is required for the pickets.

So now all the cutting and fitting. Should have some good vp if the weather holds tomorrow.
