Moving right along

Well the north side of the garage is DONE.  We took a picture and then moved the motorhome back in its spot.  So Len is right, no one will ever see the great work he did there.

Nice work!
Now he is working on the north side of the main house.  This is very tricky.  Luckily, we have lots of help. Not only is Melissa doing all the staining and varnishing of the soffit material, but Kyla came out this morning and is helping up on the scaffold.

Always helpful
Staining
Melissa is a real sport and eager to help
There was lots of prep work to do before they could start the actual siding; house wrap, window trim, flashing, etc.   Also, with the roof lines and beams, a simple scaffold isn't quite enough.  They have two platforms out from the main structure so they can reach everything.

The first thing to go was the plank that was used to do work on the facia.
Carefully lowering the plank
Note the platform on the entrance roof
Kyla and Len - teeter totter anyone?
Melissa and I finished burying the wire for the dog containment system.  Cathryn and Victoria did quite a bit of it, and then we finished it off.  The girls also collected some kindling for the fireplace.  Lots more to be picked up but a good start.  I also did a bit more painting.

Putting on sealant at the seams and then painting
Since Chris and Kyla (and dogs) are here and it is Melissa and girls' last night, we are having a wiener roast again.  I missed the last one, so this will be my first of the year.  We are having beautiful warm weather at last.  We will also keep a look out for the meteor shower expected later tonight.  We went out last night and laid on some cushions and saw a few good ones.

The parking area is the most open space so that's where we set up
Tomorrow all the visitors and helpers will be gone, and we will be on our own again.  If anyone wants to drop by, please feel free.  We will feed and house you in exchange for your company and/or help.  No expectations - it is always good to have company!
