Simon from Tamlin Homes decides we need more clamps and off he goes to search for them. I am busy still drilling holes in the south wall to attach the posts to our framed wall and placing some vapour barrier behind where the posts will be. The big crane showed up and by the time he was all set up Simon came and away things went.
The clamps and 2x6 are to hold the bent flat as the crane takes the weight so it doesn't bend in the middle. When the first one is in place, we move the clamps and put them on the second wall which is the north one.

We set it up the second bent, brace it and go for the middle bent. Once the middle one is in place we start setting the main cross beams in their respective slots. Sounds simple enough but with moisture swelling and even a little warpage we have to fight and finnagle in certain spots.

And after a long day here is what all the fuss is about.
The south end has an overhang that will be over the deck eventually.
So now the fun begins as we set about to align and square everything before we do any more framing or roof work. Big thanks to Simon and Greg and Ken and Jessie. We were a well oiled machine and after starting at 9:00 and finishing at 6:00 deserved a good nights rest. A great and exiting day for the Aune DIY homebuilding team.

Is it normal that Tamlin sends a rep to help with the timber frame?
