Meanwhile......

Apologies for the delayed blog.  We had a busy weekend and then Kyla came up for a few days.  Much more wiring got done, and the biggest job was wiring the loft.  Because we don't want to drill through our beautiful posts and beams, the wire had to be run up from the basement then down and up again.  A whole 150 meter roll used for one room, 6 potlights, receptacles, and a fan.

The sub-panel is up and running!
Kyla was a big help, as always.  This time she brought her 3 dogs with her.  One is just a puppy, a big enthusiastic puppy.  It was great that the greenbelt is close by and that we could take them out on the wide open prairie to romp and play a couple of times a day.

Do we have enough ladders?

Cath and Kyla also got the shop doors stained while the sun was shining.
The scaffold made it easier and safer

Staining is a messy job but someone has to do it!

Matching doors - Will look better with the siding on
The other big thing that was done was the insulation of the office and the move of our "office" down to the main floor.  With a blanket where the door will be, we can put the heater on and bring the temperature up to a workable number.  What is that number?  Well when it is 8 everywhere else inside, 12 feels pretty warm.

Len also went and got a bunch more insulation to finish off the garage loft as it really cools down at night.  With the office gone, there is lots more room to move about.

We are preparing for the arrival of the Hawkins' - Dave, Doris, Mom and Dad, later today.  The plan is to have everything here so that we can immediately put everyone to work.  Well, maybe not Mom and Dad.  If the sun comes out and it isn't too windy, we may light a camp fire.  Mom and Dad are great at keeping the fire going.

That's it for now.  More later.
